Hon. Justice Ericonda Amadi is a distinguished Judge of the Customary Court of Appeal, Rivers State, recognized for his academic excellence, legal expertise, and commitment to justice and community values.
He was born on 26th September 1974 in Rumurolu Community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, as the fourth child in a family of eleven.
He began his primary education at Oro-Evo Primary School, Rumurolu, completing it in 1985 with his First School Leaving Certificate. He proceeded to Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Borokiri, Port Harcourt, where he completed his secondary education in 1991.
He later attended Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, where he obtained his LL.B degree in 2003 with Second Class Upper Division and emerged as the Best Graduating Student of the Faculty of Law. He proceeded to the Nigerian Law School the same year and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004, also with Second Class Upper Division.
Following his legal education, he completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kwara State, serving with the law firm of Wole Olanipekun (SAN) & Co., and was discharged in 2005.
He began his legal practice at Okocha & Okocha (Manuchim Chambers), where he gained significant professional experience over several years. He later established his own law firm, Konda, Sogie & Associates, serving as Principal Partner until his appointment to the Bench.
Hon. Justice Ericonda Amadi was appointed and sworn in as a Judge of the Customary Court of Appeal, Rivers State on 7th January 2020.
Since his elevation, he has contributed to the effective interpretation and application of customary law, ensuring justice is delivered in line with both legal standards and cultural principles.
He is married to Barr. Vivian Nwawuolor Ericonda, and they are blessed with five children: Benedicta, David, Daniel, Benetta, and Dunamis.
He is a devoted Christian and enjoys reading, swimming, and playing football.
