
Hon. Justice Tetenwi Ngei Eleraobari is a distinguished Judge of the Customary Court of Appeal, Rivers State, recognized for his steady rise through the judicial ranks, strong background in customary law, and dedication to justice delivery.
He was born on 2nd March 1976 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.
He began his primary education at State School Alesa, Eleme, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1988. He proceeded to Okrika Grammar School, Okrika, and later Comprehensive High School, Alesa–Eleme, completing his secondary education in 1994.
He obtained a National Diploma in Law from Rivers State College of Arts and Science (now Port Harcourt Polytechnic) in 1999. He later earned his LL.B degree from Rivers State University of Science and Technology (now Rivers State University) in 2006.
He attended the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007. He further strengthened his expertise by obtaining a Professional Diploma in Customary Law in 2014.
Hon. Justice Tetenwi began his legal career in 2007, working as Counsel with Chief G. O. Ollor & Co. in Eleme, Rivers State.
He later served as a Legal Assistant and Personal Assistant to the Commissioner for Education, Rivers State between 2008 and 2009, gaining valuable administrative and public service experience.
In 2009, he was appointed Chairman of the Customary Court, Eleme, where he served with distinction for 14 years.
In July 2022, he was appointed Deputy Chief Registrar (Litigation) of the Customary Court of Appeal, becoming part of the first set of Deputy Chief Registrars drawn from Customary Court Chairmen.
He was elevated to the Bench as a Judge of the Customary Court of Appeal, Rivers State in February 2023, marking a major milestone in his judicial career.
Notably, he became the first Customary Court Chairman in Nigeria to be elevated to the higher bench, reflecting his outstanding service and professional excellence.
